T-Mobile Celebrates Father's Day with Free Phones

T-Mobile Celebrates Dads with Unprecedented, One-Day-Only Every Phone Free Event on Sat., June 19

To help celebrate Dad, T-Mobile USA, Inc. today announces the mother of all Father’s Day offers: on Sat., June 19, for one day only, every phone in every T-Mobile store is free. This first-of-its-kind promotion will “untie” families from giving dad the traditional, same-old gift, instead offering him something he craves a new smartphone.

T-Mobile will break the traditional gift-giving mold by offering every phone in every store for free. This Saturday, starting at 8 a.m., simply visit a T-Mobile retail store and switch to any family plan, or add a new line to an existing family plan, and walk out of the store with a new phone for every new line with a two-year agreement customer’s choice while supplies last.

This one day only Dad's Day deal includes a couple of BlackBerry smartphones. Get a brand new Bold 9700 or a Curve 8520.

So if you are a T-Mobile customer and are willing to add a line, or if you want to become a T-Mobile customer...FREE is a pretty good price !!

Let us know how it goes Saturday....and if you really got it for your Dad ?

Review: OtterBox Commuter Case for BlackBerry Bold 9700

The OtterBox Commuter case for the BlackBerry Bold 9700 is a three-piece case: a plastic film for screen protection, a silicone layer for shock protection, and a hard plastic layer for drop protection. Each of these layers compliment each other in protecting the device.

In about a week of testing, I have found that this case protects my device very well. One of the things I really like about this is how the edges are raised as to protect the face of the device; this allows me to confidently place my phone on just about any surface face down without having to worry about scratching it.

The only two things I've found about his case that bug are that the tabs that protect the headphone port and microUSB plug are sometimes hard to insert properly; the the thing that bugs me is the bulk that this case adds.

So, overall, I would recommend this case to anyone needing a case for their Bold 9700 from everyday usage. For those of you in need of an extremely protective case, I would recommend checking out the OtterBox Denfender case.

Leaked: OS 5.0.0.758 for the BlackBerry Curve 9300

Last night we had a 9700 device leak. Well...it was a leak for a couple hours at least. Fast forward to this morning and now we have another. This time it's for the unreleased Kepler 9300. BBleaks has just dropped OS 5.0.0.758 for the upcoming Curve device. While it won't be needed by most of us, the hybrid builders are sure to be including this into new builds.

BlackBerry App World updated to 1.1.0.35

BlackBerry App World has updated to v1.1.0.35

This is probably not much of an update as the current version is 1.1.0.33  I would guess this is simply internal stuff as App World  2.0 is rumored to be on the horizon.

But, if you are like me, I will always update every app to the most current version, and as this doesn't cost a penny...update it !

BlackBerry App World update

The Kepler shows off its Curves

The Kepler shows off its Curves

Thanks to BB Leaks the Kepler has now seen the light of day, which of course will replace the current 8500 series. With a new name the Curve 9300, this device with pack a punch presenting the users with 256MB of flash memory, 3G, WiFi and a 624MHZ processor. Although I have to admit a new device only carrying 256 of RAM strikes me as a little bit of a sales ploy, as I think RIM will update the RAM to a 512MB probably 4 to 5 months down the line claiming a new device. So why not just release one of their best selling devices with the higher RAM ? The answer is sales revenue. Anyway the pictures show the device running an OS 5, but I’m sure a BlackBerry 6 will drop straight on to the device when it becomes available. Enough of me waffling feast your eyes on the pictures and be sure to let us know what you think of the new device, as a current Curve owner will you be updating ?
